Berlin – A Short Weekend Away

Hey my loves,

in today’s blog post I am sharing some of my favorite spots me and Miri discovered on our short weekend in Berlin.

We arrived on late afternoon on Friday, so we basically did not do anything that day. So we ordered some pizza, which was NOT great, sadly, and just went to a local super market to grab some things for the upcoming day. On Saturday we basically hit up everything we wanted to see. We walked SOOOOO much, I think I almost hit like 20000 steps or something. All I remember is that we were absolutely smashed that night. But it was worth it and I had so much fun.

We first went to the Holocaust Memorial, which I took photos off, but out of respect for everyone who was involved and affected by it will never share with the internet. It was quite emotional to see it and just to feel a part of history. I would highly recommend going there and just taking it all in.

We basically walked from there to the Brandenburg Gate, which is really impressive and cool to see our most known landmark in person. From there on we walked to the government district. I should mention that we didn’t actually went into anything since we did not really want to spent any money and some of the lines were really long. We then just had a quick look at the Reichstag building and the Bundestag.

We then took what felt like the longest walk ever from the Brandenburg gate to the Siegessäule and I just googled it that alone was a walk of almost 5 km. After that we took the bus and the trains to get to the Upper East Side area of Berlin.

We had some food and rested for a little while before we explored the Humboldt university, the opera and the Berlin Dome. The Berlin Dome was one of my highlights, it was definitely the most beautiful and impressive building and landmark I have seen in all of Berlin. It is so huge, you really feel small beside it. For height comparison you should check out my insta.

Last but not least we went to the East Side Gallery where parts of the Berlin wall are still standing. For more pictures you should definitely check out my Instagram.

Have you ever been to Berlin? What were your favorite sightseeing spots? Let me know in the comments, I would love to know.

I wish you all a wonderful day.

Girl’s Weekend – Mini Holiday – 2016

Hey my loves,

at the end of May myself and two of my best friends went on a little girl’s weekend away from home. We had an absolute blast while we were away and I thought I would share some of the things we did there!

We spent 4 Days and 3 Nights at the Mercure Hotel in Lüdenscheid and it was pretty good. I loved every minute of our little getaway and we had so many cry-laughters and amazing memories! I wouldn’t change it for the world! Since it was planned to be a relaxing holiday we hadn’t planned too much, except for the day where we decided to go shopping and visit a museum and we also watch ‘X-Men:Apocalypse’. But other than that we pretty much stayed in the hotel and well, relaxed.

So here are a few impressions of what our holiday was like:

Amsterdam – The Food, The Sights, The Feeling

Hey my loves,

as you might or might not know I went to Amsterdam for my birthday! We were staying at the Amstel Botel and I had such a lovely time! I really want to go back and have a little more time, because the city is so beautiful and inspiring.

On the evening of November 7th we arrived pretty late, I believe it was around 10:30 pm, so we just went straight in our rooms to get some sleep. Which was to say pretty short due to some loud noises from the boat or the heating, but the view of the beautiful sunrise in the morning made it all go away. On Saturday we spent our time shopping, because what else do you do if you just have basically one day. In the evening we went to a near by Restaurant called IJ Kantine, which first of all had this amazing window with all the bottles of alcohol and secondly one foodgasm after another. It was so delicious and amazing. On Sunday instead of driving straight home we made a detour to Rotterdam, because a friend of ours is living there. And I had the best rooibus tea ever!

Over all, this weekend trip was so much fun and it was so nice just to see something else. Amsterdam is a very beautiful city and I would love to go back some day!

So enough of me babbling. Here are some pictures:

I hope you all have a wonderful day!

10 Steps: How to plan a weekend getaway with your friends

Hey my loves,

this weekend I am going away with two of my friends for a weekend getaway to Amsterdam and I thought I share with you how we planned it and even give you some inspirations for packing and other things. But today I give you 10 steps on how to actually plan your trip. I hope you all have an awesome day and if you go on a weekend trip with your friends, please feel free to tag me on Twitter: The Dawn of Inspiration or on Instagram: Beckett1991 !

  1. Find a date that fits for all of you. If it is for your birthday make sure you ask your friends at least 6-8 weeks beforehand.
  2. Decide where you wanna go, you could decide it on your own (maybe because it is your birthday), you could decide together or you could even see what the cheapest getaway from your home town is.
  3. Think about where you’re going and if you decided beforehand you were travelling by car, make sure it is not so far away (tops 3 hour drive, I would recommend)
  4. The easiest way to book it, is if one of you is the “money master”, this means one of you controls the money for booking and traveling.
  5. Book a hotel or whatever you want to stay in and make sure you have the money you need from your friends.
  6. Think about what you want to do (relaxing, wellness, sightseeing) and discuss it with your friends. Maybe even start a group on Facebook or WhatsApp.
  7. Plan your outfits ahead so that you don’t have to take too much with you.
  8. Make a list of everything you will need, including passport and all that.
  9. Pack something for the travel (especially if you go by car or train).
  10. Enjoy and have fun, maybe even turn your mobile phone off, if you can.

We planned the trip with a travel agency, but there are quite a lot online vacation sites. Whatever you prefer ist fine. I hope those 10 steps helped you and stay tuned for more fun things coming this weekend.

I wish you all a wonderful start in the week.

Xoxo, Jasmin.
